Textures used in design

Translucent - this texture is used to represent transparent glazing, it gives an 'endless' feeling thought out the building, which is also represented in Goodwins work.

Fibrous - this texture was chosen as it gives a feeling as if you were underground, the feeling that you may be 'departed', buried under ground like as if 'fibrous' roots were surrounding you. it has a unpleasant impact on one, just like in swallows sculpture.

Varnished - just like 'varnished' timber, this texture looks like the grain and knots found in timber flooring. Timber was chosen to represent the material that is used in the artists workshop.
